About Mighty Mongo

If Sublime and Green Day had a four-headed baby, they would have named it Mighty Mongo. Voted the hardest working band in the Bay, Mighty Mongo has won every Battle of the Bands competition they've ever entered and played almost every club in the Tampa/ St. Petersburg area including venues like the Hard Rock Casino and State Theatre. Here's a little bit of history on the up and coming punk-reggae foursome...

Ancient legend tells of a mighty monkey, Mongoliath, whose bravery and prowesswas unrivaled in the supernatural world. He saved the lives of kings and queens, as well as whole villages by hunting and destroying demons and other evils in his path with his godlike strength and tail of fire. When his loyalty was questioned, he readily ripped open his own chest with his bare hands to expose the inner workings of his heart. It is Mongoliath who restored peace and happiness to the lands, and Mongoliath who formed MIGHTY MONGO.

Mongoliath spent the last 10,000 moons embarked upon a quest to revolutionize the world by rewriting the destiny of music. He began by forging four magical instruments fashioned from a sacred volcano in the middle of deep space. After months of relentless and tiring toil, Mongoliath had wielded a bass guitar with strings made from the tails of his monkey ancestors, a drum set from the scalps Poseidon’s offspring, a keytar emblazoned with the tusks 49 demonic alien elephants, and an electric guitar with strings from the very hairs on his back.

Now all Mongoliath needed was four mighty warriors to master these instruments and unite them as one! He searched the four corners of the
earth from the highest peaks of the mountains to the lowest depths of the oceans until one day in 2009 he uncovered a perfect match for each
of his revered apparatus: Alex Card on Bass, Anthony Isoldi on Guitar, Lindsay Vitola on keys and Scotty Chmura on drums. He dubbed them
Mighty Mongo, and warned them to live up to their name or perish to an afterlife of eternal misery watching live performances of “She Bangs”
as covered by the infamous William Hung.

With his army complete, Mongoliath ascended to the Rock and Roll Heavens to watch over them, give them an incredible base of fans, called
MONGOLIANS, and send them to epic events like the 2010 VANS WARPED TOUR. To this day, Mighty Mongo continues to channel the passion and
excellence of Mongoliath in everything they do and look forward to rocking your face off at a show near you… M-O-N-G-O!
